One day after school, a boy carrying a schoolbag was walking on the way home. Suddenly, he saw a huge amount of white smoke wafting from a room on the first floor. He felt shocked that he thought that it must be a fire in this house. He ran away quickly to find something to put out the fire. Before long he came back in a hurry and threw a bucket of water which he found somewhere to the opening window of this smoking room. When he finished that, the white smoke disappeared gradually. He felt relieved and wanted to continue to go back with a delighted heart. All of a sudden, an angry old bald man called him. He stopped and say and saw the old man pointing a wet tobacco pipe when all his body was dropping water. Finally he knew what in effect happened was that the old man had just been smoking. With guilt and shame, he could do nothing but put down his head and apologize to the man.

An awkward experience
What has happened? It was the first thought coming to my mind when I saw the unusual scene in front of my home’s window. The dense smoke, looking like a worm in larger size, kept emerging out of the window and floating over my head. The moment I was aware that the house was highly possible to catch fire. l immediately rushed around the house to find something that could deal with the emergency.
Fortunately, there was a tap and a pail in the centre of a garden nearby. Having filled the pail, I hurriedly ran back to the house and quickly poured the water into the window. How breathtaking it was! l threw the pail and stretched out my arms, deciding to think more of the details, but I was suddenly interrupted by an annoying voice. ”What on earth are you doing?” shouted my father, ”Nothing, but l saw a thick smoke and l guess it might be on fire…”I whispered with a red face.” “Apparently it isn’t, silly boy. Thanks to your timely water, my pipe is in trouble and l’m almost wet!”
Hardly could l recall the end of this dramatic story, but it must be one of the most awkward experiences in my life.

One day, I came back home after school in a good mood. When I approached the house, I found a ball of black smoke floating out of the window. “Oh! My house is on fire!” I thought.
After a few seconds, it suddenly occurred to me that my father was at home today, which worried me a lot. I immediately ran near the house to find some tools. Fortunately, I found a bucket and filled it with water. After that, I ran back quickly to the house and poured the water into the window. Seeing the smoke gradually faded and even disappeared, I finally sighed with relief.
At the same time, a voice which I was familiar with struck my ears. “Oh no!” shouted father angrily, who leaned out of the window wet all over. It was not until then that I found that Dad held a pipe in his hand. I dropped the bucket, having nothing to say.

It was time to go home. With much homework in my school bag, I walked slowly on the familiar way, while suddenly a smell of smoke came towards me. Wondering what was happening, I quickened my pace. Having found the smoke coming from a house, which seemed to have nobody inside, I slowed down. “It must be on fire!” I thought. An attempt to put out the fire occurred to me. There’s no doubt that the owner of the house would show his gratitude for me if I could do something to save the house. So, I walked away and with a big bucket of water back. I ran quickly, even though the bucket was too heavy for me to go fast with it. As soon as the water was poured into the house, the smoke disappeared. I felt satisfied with what I did while a shout came out from the house, “Who poured the water on me?” An old men headed out of the window of the house, staring at me angrily, with a cigarette in hand, which was the source of the smoke I had just smelled out. Having said sorry to the poor man, I went on my journey to home at a great speed, embarrassed and amused.
